Time allowing, a 4-7 day ski trip is the perfect measure, offering you enough opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, in authentic Tyrol style. Don’t miss out on the nearby villages of Reith, Jochberg and Aurach. The latter has a wildlife park and traditional shops that you can’t help to fall in love with.

Courchevel 1850 is one of the most visited ski resorts due to its accessibility and extensive range of activities. Located in the three valleys of Courchevel, France, Meribel, and Val Thorens, this location offers excellent skiing possibilities. Whether you wish to find an easy, difficult, on- or off-piste, there will be plenty of options for you to pick from.
This small mountain neighbourhood is as picturesque as they come. Don’t miss the Moriond Luge Racing, and leave your skis on the side for a while. This 3 km-long toboggan run invites visitors to grab a slide and enjoy the family fun. Its surroundings are also packed with opportunities for dog sledging and snowmobile adventures.
Lake Rosiere (Lac Rosiere) is a sight to witness in winter months, even though we’d stay away from even the shyest dip. Weather allowing, the area is also served by several paragliding and ballooning opportunities.
Courchevel 1850 is bustling with exclusivity and A-listers. However, it’s not the cheapest with a cocktails easily costing $40 each! Unlike other locations on this list, Courchevel is really aimed at partying and having a good time, and it is considered to be one of the most luxurious ski resorts in the world.
On the whole if you’re looking to go skiing with a bang and a touch of luxury, then Courchevel is your place to be. You can fly private to Courchevel via Geneva airport, where you can take a helicopter charter or a car ride.

We’re back in the United States, and Sun Valley is a purpose-built luxury ski resort designed to please even the most demanding. It’s small and secluded but provides plenty of opportunities for both skiing and relaxing.
The area of Sun Valley and Ketchum are hosts to 120 different runs, most of which are ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers. There is a small ratio of advanced runs, but the focus here is enjoyable skiing rather than pushing the limits. Most think about Switzerland and Austria for skiing, but just like Aspen, there is plenty to enjoy and discover in Idaho’s Sun Valley.
This ski resort is not shy on awards, and while it was built to impress the rich and wealthy Hollywood celebrities, it became a success. Americans and foreign visitors alike enjoy the many slopes and breathtaking views of this fantastic location. Hotel rates are surprisingly affordable, which means you can further enjoy the many fun activities that take place here all Winter long.

If you’re looking for something private and low-key then Sun Valley is a fantastic place to go and relax. Just don’t get too giddy when you’re having dinner next to one of the many famous people that comes and visits here.
Verbier, Switzerland, is one of the highest-altitude ski resorts in the world. Celebrities come here from everywhere to experience the challenging runs it provides, which means you might find yourself skiing next to a few familiar faces. At a mere 14,000 a day, you may be tricked into think the location could feel slightly busy, but considering the many options, it quickly becomes a dream for those wishing to ski in peace.
Luxury chalets are usually the way to go in Lech, and while there are apartments and some hotels, you’ll enjoy the authentic aura of this fabulous location waking up in a heavenly wooden home. Alternatively, consider Post Lech Arlberg, a mix of genuine Austrian highlands with a few twists. The best winter activities are available throughout the cold months, including fun toboggan rides for the whole family.

All of the resorts on this list are extremely expensive and will set you back a pretty penny. We really couldn’t narrow it down to a single one as you could keep spending money endlessly at either one of them. However, if we had to choose then St Moritz would probably make the top of the list.

In North America, Whistler will probably win the award for this one. However, in Europe choosing can be very difficult. Personally, we would most likely Alpe d’Huez from personal experience.
If you don’t want to go to a luxury skiing resort, then there are some great cheap skiing options. In Europe, Les Houches in France and Vogel in Slovenia make great options. While in the US there’s Crested Butte in Colorado, and Powder Mountain in Utah. Of course, there are plenty of other options too but these would be our picks.
